Project Title: Multicultural Festival (Gränslös Kultur festival), A two-day festival in the town centre. Last weekend in May.

Description: Its a festival against racism and violence
We want to build bridges between other cultures and our own.

Objectives:
q Immigrants show their countries different cultures
q To teach our citizens about other countries cultures
q To get the immigrants and the citizens of Åmål to meet and do something together
q Create a network for the immigrants
|

Process/Stages:
q Mixed group of immigrants and people from Åmål have meetings every 14:th day. Beginning in January.
q Split the working tasks before the festival. Food, music, dance, craft. -Jan
q Contact with the twin towns of Åmål for exchanging artists- may
q Marketing and promotion of the festival – Jan- May
q The immigrants try to get sponsors from different companies Jan – May
q The preliminary programme needs to be finished - April
q Building up the festival area. Middle of May
q Multicultural festival last weekend in May

Outcomes/Results:
- Bigger understanding between different cultures
- Easier to get immigrants into the labour market.
- Less antagonism between different cultures
