A Grateful Visitor to Stonehaven

Donald Mitchell with his Box of Chocolates and Thank you Card Stonehaven visitor, Mr Ralf Weingartmer from Vienna was very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the people of Stonehaven. He was particularly impressed by Donald Mitchell, Chairman of  Stonehaven Business Association. In October 2005 Donald was meeting the contractors for the Christmas Lights installation at the Market Square when he was approached and asked about where to find accommodation. Donald took Mr Weingartmer to his hairdressing salon nearby and phoned around several places for him. Unfortunately, Stonehaven has been experiencing an exceptionall busy time this year and there was nothing available. Donald had tried his best and never thought any more about it. A few days letter a parcel arrived with a beautiful box of chocolates and a hand written card from Mr Weingartmer expressing his gratitude and commenting on the nice 'city' of Stonehaven.   Visitors do judge a place by the people they meet and when you are proud of where you live and willing to do that little bit extra when dealing with visitors it can make a large bit of difference to their perception of your town. It is good to see the Chairman of our Business Association setting the right example.
