Stonehaven Market Square was a buzz of excitement as crowds flocked to visit the first ever Continental Market in the town on Sunday 11th June 2006.
Stallholders from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and Poland were selling high quality products including cheese, olives. French sausages, french breads, croissants and visitors were tempted by hot food like Garlic Mushrooms and Spanish Paella.

Donna Pirie, Vice Chairman of Stonehaven Business Association who was responsible for organising the event was delighted with the attendance and said all the Traders would definitely want to return to Stonehaven.
Chairman Doug Paton said "This is definitely an exercise the Business Association would repeat.

| Part of the Car Boot Sale

The Market ran alongside the Car Boot Sale which is held every two weeks by the Stonehaven Business Association resulting in 24 cars attending the Car Boot Sale and 26 stalls from the Continent.
All the Car Booters benefited from the increased activity in the Square.

NB The Continental Market will return to Stonehaven for two days in 2007
