A retrospective look at the career of the late William Littlejohn, this exhibition features oils, watercolours and prints. He was born in Arbroath and studied Fine Art at Dundee College of Art, before becoming a lecturer (then Head) in Fine Art at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen. He retired in 1991.

Littlejohn was attracted to Japanese art as many of his paintings demonstrate, and in 1984 he was awarded the RSA Gillies Award enabling him to travel to Japan.
He was elected as a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1973 and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1990. Having had several solo exhibitions in Scotland and England, as well as being a regular contributor to the Royal Academy in London, his work features in several private and public collections including H.M. The Queen, Scottish Gallery of Modern Art, Royal Bank of Scotland and Edinburgh and Aberdeen Universities.
