Visitor Experience Workshop in Stonehaven
|
| Pride&Passion Team in Stonehaven
|
‘Pride & Passion asks and assists everyone in Scottish tourism to find a way to add a bit extra to the customer experience – and enrich their own lives, too – by always doing the right thing rather than the easy thing. A recent Workshop held in Stonehaven showed tourist businesses how business could boom if they did.
Throughout November 2007, Pride & Passion held a series of entertaining and drama based workshops where attendees could discover how delivering a fulsome and authentic visitor experience can boost business turnover and local trade.
The Pride & Passion team started off in Castle Douglas and travelled as far as Orkney and back to Peebles.

| Stonehaven Attendees at Pride & Passion Event
|
The Stonehaven Event took place on Thursday 22nd November at the Sea Cadets Hall in the High Street where representatives from various attractions like Dunnottar Castle and several Guest Houses and local retailers from Stonehaven as well as representatives from around Deeside.
As chairman of Stonehaven Its Special Tourism Group I attended this event and have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the Training and the obvious passion from Gillian Stirton of Pride & Passion and the Drama Training Team.
It was obvious how important it was to make visitors feel welcome as that played a major part in how your town or premises were perceived and through the use of drama the attendees were able to learn how little differences in the way they dealt with people, could make a big difference to the impression created.
As an exercise during lunch all attendees were given a lunch allowance to spend as they wished in any establishment in Stonehaven as long as they shared their experience with the rest of the Group.
While most of the comments were good there is still room for improvement and I would recommend businesses to follow the lead of the Pride & Passion team. More information can be found at www.prideandpassion.net .
It was very encouraging to see a good number of businesses from Stonehaven taking the time to attend this workshop and demonstrating their enthusiasm and passion for the town. There was no doubt everybody learned from each other as well as sharing the experience of the Pride & Passion team from other workshops.
