Mearns Community Radio Group AGM
Stonehaven Community Centre, Bath Street
Thursday 17 August 2006 at 7.30pm
We would like to invite you to attend our second AGM. We need your help and involvement for the benefit of all our community.
As you may know, Ofcom are now going to be inviting formal applications for community radio licenses in this area probably from the end of October until mid January. We have already lodged a letter advising that we intend to apply, and we are pleased that at last we seem to be able to make some progress. We have also found premises that we will be able to use.
Mearns FM is intended to be a showcase for local talent, local programmes and local news; this is a resource for all the community provided by the community. We have been running training courses on how to make programmes and can start webcasting straight away. We are looking for volunteers for the admin tasks as well those who want to be presenters. Most of all, we still want to hear your views!
What kind of programmes do you want to hear?
Would you like to present a show on Mearns Community Radio?
Do want to know how to make music or spoken-word programmes?
Can you help us identify funding sources?
Would you like to promote your group's activities to the local community?
You are very welcome to join us on the 17th August, or to contact us with your views by letter, telephone or e-mail to info@mearnsfm.co.uk.
Yours truly,
Charles H Sands
