| Open Air in the Square
|
The Hogmanay celebrations in Stonehaven escaped the severe weather which affected celebrations elsewhere in Scotland. Festivities started at 7pm with the Open Air Festival in the Market Square. A North Sound DJ and the Stonehaven Pipe Band helped to rouse the crowds, who were there to have fun despite the weather.

| Fireballs Festival
|
Although there was falls of rain and plenty wind, things calmed down later and thousands still attended the Fireballs Festival in the High Street in the older part of Stonehaven.
For the first time since the 1970’s the tower bell in the Market Square was sounded to mark the 150th anniversary of it’s introduction to the town.

| Fireworks Display
|
An excellent Fireworks Display finished off the evening to the delight of the crowd.
Tremendous credit must go to the Organisers of both events for all the hard work involved in ensuring the success of this Hogmanay Event.
