Aberdeen-based oil and gas service specialist TSMarine (Contracting) Ltd is to sponsor the Hogmanay celebrations in Stonehaven for the second year in a row.

The company, which specialises in rigless subsea well intervention, has pledged 10,000 to support the Open Air in the Square festivities, where the new year will be brought in in style as the bells chime midnight.

The Open Air in the Square event is staged by the Stonehaven Hogmanay Festival Committee, a group of volunteers who organise plenty of good music, food stalls, a bar and a funfair.

As part of the Stonehaven Hogmanay Festival, Market Square comes into its own as the venue for New Year revellers.

Entertainment on stage lasts from around 7pm to 2am, and there is no need to leave the square to see the world-famous fireballs, as all the action is beamed live to screens for those who want to avoid the crowds on the towns High Street.
