Home Reared Pork Products

Rock View Farm returned to pigs in 2006 and now breeds its own herd of large white cross saddleback pigs. They are fed on a traditional diet suitable for their type which, in turn, produces pork with outstanding flavour and lovely crackling. Meat from these pigs is also used to our many varieties of award winning sausages (see list of flavours), traditional dry-cured bacon and hams.

 

Limestone Country Beef Products

We are the premier retailers of Limestone Country Beef, which comes from traditional breeds of cattle, reared as part of a conservation program in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and bought direct from the farmer. Our main beef of this type comes from Belted Galloway cattle raised by Tom Boothman of Linton (they may often be seen in Threshfield, just by the river bridge).

 

Home Reared Lamb Products

With a flock of over 900 Welsh cross ewes, which lamb mainly to Texel rams, means there is a near constant supply of quality grass fed lambs all year round. All but for a small gap which is filled by my wife Becky’s Black Welsh Mountain lambs. 

Our lamb has gained much comment for its quality and flavour especially from T.V chef James Martin who uses it for his most prestigious events and venues.

In his recent book ‘The Great Village Show Cookbook’ he states,

I think award- winning butcher Colin Robinson from Grassington near Skipton has some of the best lamb in the country. I serve it at royal dinners.’

 

Award Winning Sausages

 

Recipes developed in-house, finest quality Home Reared Meats, natural ingredients and care in preparation is the successful formula of our sausages. They are all high in meat content with just enough fat to keep them succulent.

The list of awards for our sausages just keeps on growing, so why not treat yourself to a taste of gold, silver or bronze.

 

All of our sausages can be made gluten free, but a minimum order of approximately 2.5kg must be placed. They all come in pack of a minimum weight of 450g and are £3.30 per pack. Postage depends on order value.

Bacon and hams

We cure most of our bacon and hams ourselves the old fashioned way using dry salt to produce traditional tasting bacon, including a gold award winning, dry-cured smoked bacon. Some of our dry cured hams are left to mature for up to twelve months which results in a Parma style ham.

 

Home Reared Beef

Rock View Farm also have a herd of traditional breed, beef suckler cattle (where the calves stay with their mothers for some time, feeding on mothers milk and grass).These are bred, reared and matured on the farm always following a natural diet.

All our beef is hung to mature for at least 3 weeks (or longer), to ensure its optimum flavour and tenderness. All our beef including mince and stewing steak, comes from the same quality source and is guaranteed safe and of high quality.
