...and
I want to implement my own GTD personal management system.
What
do I do next?
I'm
ready to go...
For
a lot of people, the next step is to use the book as a resource and go ahead and
set up your own system. Set aside a couple of days for some serious non-stop
collect, process, organise around your home or your office. Or be prepared to
process everything in your world, a chunk at a time over a period of a few
weeks.
You
might want to read our hints and tips article on filing in
the UK first, though. The kit we have available over here isn't quite the
same as it is in California...
If
you use Outlook for your email and you're intending to use it for your list
manager too, you might want to get hold of the PDF-based Outlook configuration guide from David's website. Why not take
a look at our article on using Outlook for GTD, as
well?
And
if there's anything else that you want to check out before you dive in, feel
free to ask us.
Errr...
If
you've read the book, but it still isn't clear how to proceed with your own
implementation, then follow this three step plan:
1.
Don't despair. This is normal. Although we believe the book contains
all the info you need, a lot of people need something more or different.
It's OK.
2.
Have you got specific questions to which you need answers? Drop us an email, and we'll do our best to get you on
the right track. If it's too complex for an email, you could consider a telecoaching session.
3.
Perhaps you need the information in a different format? Try getting an audio version of GTD from David's website, or coming along to
a public
seminar. You'll get to see David and have the chance to pick other people's
brains at the same time! Go to Top
