We have very limited oppurtunities for Duck and Goose Flighting in South West Durham. All our fligthing is booked for the 2006/07 season, however if you are interested in a flight during the 2007/08 season send us an e-mail and we will add you to our mailing list.
Our Duck flighting takes place at Dusk over one of our ponds in upper Teesdale. The season starts in September and the most consistent flights tend to be in September and October when we usually have good numbers of Mallard and Teal. We only allow two shooters per pond and you will be accompanied by one of our staff who will be there to assist you. Our ponds are only shot lightly and it is important that guns understand that shooting will end with sufficient time allowed for "picking up" and for a few birds to come into the ponds without disturbance.

Goose Flighting takes place at day break when we attempt to intercept the Geese as they flight from their roosting ground to their feeding ground. Our shooting is true "flighting", we do not shoot our geese on the roost or on their feeding grounds - we prefer to preserve these as "sanctuary areas" in order to keep the birds in our district. The main quarry goose we encounter is the Greylag, we do get a few Canada Geese early in the season and we have also shot Pinkfeet and Whitefront. Our best flights tend to come from the start of September until late October. We will only allow two shooters per flight and there is a strict bag limit of four geese per person, shooting must cease by 0900 hrs.
