Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my Spa cost to run?

On average an Arctic Spa will cost between £12-£15 per month on your electricity.  You will also have to buy chemicals which for your year would be around £150-£180.  Once you become accustomed to using the chemicals this will mean you use less than you do at the start.

Can my children use my spa?

Yes children can use the spa.  What you do need to remember is that for young children (below 13-14) you must ensure that they come up to hip height every 15 minutes for 5 minutes to allow their body to cool  down a bit.  Children love being in the Spas and for the smaller ones it is like a mini swimming pool!

What about plumbing?

You do not need any pluming work done – all you need is access to your garden hose.  There is a connection for draining the water away to your drain and then you simply wipe the shell and re-fill.  All other workings are inside your tub.

Will we need electrical work?

Electrical work will be required to connect your Hot Tub.  We can provide an electrician to quote for this work or indeed you may wish to use someone you know or that has already done work for you.  The electrical work must be done prior to your Hot Tub being delivered.

What about maintenance?

Maintenance on an Arctic Spa is minimal.  You are required to give your cabinet a coat of oil yearly to keep it in top condition.  You should change your filter yearly.  Also when you drain your tub give your filter a wash out or a soak in filter restore to keep it working to its best.  A wipe down of the shell everytime you drain is a good idea as well.

Is it easy to understand the chemical instructions?

When your Tub is delivered our engineer will go over the chemical usage with you.  This may take about a month for you to get into the swing of it but once you are used to it it will become second nature.  If you do struggle we are on hand to help.

If I move house what happens to my Hot Tub?

When you move – if you still have room for your Tub we can arrange for a small fee to move your Tub with you.  However you will have to have the electrical work done again so that your Tub can be usable.
