 Dunnottar Castle This impressive ruined fortress is probably the most visited attraction in the area. Less than two miles south of Stonehaven on the Kincardineshire east coast, this much-photographed ruined fortress is an impressive sight, overlooking the North Sea from its clifftop plateau. It includes an L-plan tower house, gatehouse, hall, chapel, Priest's House and covers an area of almost 3 acres.

Midnight Swims and barbecues are held on Wednesdays throughout the summer
 Golf Stonehaven Golf Club lies on the Braes of Cowie overlooking the town of Stonehaven.
Though the course is short (par 66 and 5103 yards), it sets a testing challenge for all standards of golfer.
The course also provides magnificent views of the North Sea, Stonehaven Bay and the town itself, and of the ancient fortress of Dunnottar Castle.
