The Richmond Park's Dundas Lounge is in a promising situation. The building is contemporary and dignified by the surrounding trees and shrubs. If unasuming, it is promising. And you discover that as soon as you enter. The modern and minimalist decor and function of the lounge/restaurant is in strikingly good taste.
After recent refurbishment, the interior is surrounded by dark wood and shades of aubergine and mink. Ths actually gives it a calming and peacful ambience, making it a pleasant dining experience.
The menu is straightforward. A lot to offer in both traditional and modern dishes.
The starters are as varied as the other courses. They range from £2.95 upwards including broths and seafood.
Main courses include a section of good pub food. But they have an added special touch which puts them in a higher category than pub food! Food of a class to match the surroundings. Just try the side salad... Delish!
Steaks, burgers, good old haddock 'n chips, Italian classics... the list goes on. And, when you think you've had enough, out come the desserts. Plenty of the established favourites are on the Dundas Lounge menu. Lemon cheesecake for one of the many.
Wonderful surroundings. Good food. Reasonable prices. What more could a diner ask for?
