Restaurant Marketing - Case Study
One Restaurant decided to give up the traditional method of collecting postal addresses from customers, and set up a monthly Newsletter facility using conventional web Newsletter technology. Their “Priority Dining Club” restaurant marketing programme was commenced and results closely monitored.
Customers were asked to fill in a postcard with their names, birthday and, of course, their e-mail address, in return for food offers, special invites and other enticing rewards.
Within 6 weeks of implementing this system, the enthusiastic staff collected a total of 300 e-mail addresses. 
The first Newsletter was sent out and the response to a free bottle of wine offer was particularly successful with over 25 customers responding by telephone.
This resulted in a total of 80 people coming to dine in the restaurant!
Also in the Newsletter was an invitation to a wine evening which generated further response with another 12 customers taking part @ £18.95 per head.
By September 2003 the Restaurant's database stood at over 800 names and continues to grow. The response to a lunch offer during September was incredible with over 140 diners participating.
The wine tasting event also saw similar growth over the 6-month period with a staggering 120 people attending in September.
