The Stonehaven Horizon Project consists of a group of volunteers from local organisations and members of the public who are committed to improving the appearance of Stonehaven .
Since the Group was formed in Nov 2004 we have been involved with projects such as
- Litter Clean Ups
- Painting the Pends
- Bulb Planting
- Filling and Watering Hanging Baskets
- Floral Displays
- Winning the Green Butterfly Award
- Hanging Basket Competitions
- The Wave Garden at Stonehaven Promenade
- The Burns Memorial Garden
- Working with Stonehaven Schools' Eco Groups
- Planting wild flowers at Stonehaven Baywalk
- Summer Floral Display Competition for the town centre
In September 2008 the Horizon Group was awarded a Silver Medal in the Seaside Resort category at the Beautiful Scotland Award Ceremony in Musselburgh.
Stonehaven achieved 148 points out of a possible 200 points for the town's first entry in Beautiful Scotland.

Our aims for the future are
- To continue to provide floral displays which will enhance the appearance of Stonehaven.
- To make the town more attractive for visitors by carrying out regular litter picks at the beach and the harbour.
- To make Stonehaven residents proud of their town by encouraging community involvement.
The Group relies on grants and sponsorship to carry out these activities and all support is very welcome.
