Seemingly endless stretches of sandy beaches with extraordinary dune systems make North Devon's coastline one of the finest in the world.
Croyde Bay. A World famous sandy beach, backed by sand dunes and situated in a small bay on the North Devon Coast. The stepped beach and rocks make it one of the best surfing in Europe. A surfer's paradise.
Putsborough. The long sweeping sands of Putsborough are renowned for their cleanliness and beauty. It is very popular with families as it offers vast golden sands as well as plenty of rock pools to explore. Dogs allowed.
Saunton Sands is a three mile long expanse of sandy beach facing due west backed by impressive sand dunes and cut off to the south by the combined estuaries of the rivers Taw and Torridge. Another surfing beach.
Woolacombe Beach is one of the finest beaches in the West Country with numerous awards. It's a big favourite for families and surfers, attracting thousands of people each summer.
Coombe Martin. A superb family beach a mixture of sand and pebbles. Low tide reveals an abundance of rock pools, deep caves and areas of firm clean golden sand beyond the weir.
Clovelly harbour. Step back in time at the picturesque 14th Century harbour at Clovelly. The beach is a pebbled beach set in the middle of the peaceful harbour.
Lynton & Lynmouth The spectacular combination of sweeping moorland with high, rugged, tree-clad cliffs and enticing sheltered bays make Lynton and Lynmouth almost unique. Must see; Valley of the Rocks.
Appledore and Instow Estuary towns on opposite sides of the water.
