South Molton is known as the 'Gateway' to Exmoor. Ideally positioned between the beautiful North Devon coastline and the rugged scenery of Exmoor, this lovely small market town has a character all of its own.
Market days are Thursday and Saturday when the town is buzzing with activity and The George is still the local meeting point for much of the town community. With a Pannier market on Thursdays and Saturdays, a weekly cattle market, two butchers, a honey farm, chocolate factory, large organic deli and a game larder, South Molton is the food capital of North Devon.
With easy access via the A361 North Devon Link road from Junction 27 of the M5, South Molton is easy to get to. From here you can travel in any direction and find a wealth of attractions. Here are some useful sites to visit to find out more.
