UTC Thread
|
UTC Thread lays flat on the hook so thread build up is kept to a minimum. Its multi strand construction lends itself to the split thread dubbing technique, and that can make life easier especially if you are trying to dub very coarse fibres thinly. UTC Threads use the denier of the threads to measure diameter. This system measures the weight of the thread over a given length to determine thickness, therefore 140 thread is twice the weight of 70 thread making it twice as thick. Anyway that's enough of the science, basically 70 thread is equal to 8/0, and 140 thread is equal to 6/0.
