The Mitchell Avocett 6500 is an extremely good quality Big Pit reel at a very affordable price. It’s multi disc drag system (with stainless washers) takes just one full turn to go from a slack to a tight drag, locking down completely for long range casting. A super smooth retrieve of 4.85:1 makes short work of spodding and marking up, weighing in at just 575g you will hardly even know its there. Two aluminium spools are supplied, the shallow one is a God send as it will take 300yds of braid without having to back it off first and the risk of an expensive miscalculation.
In short, if you are looking for a big pit reel and you are on a bit of a budget than this is the one for you.
