Winscribe Office Launch

New "WinScribe Office" offers cost effective digital dictation and workflow for the smallest workgroup.

Reading, England – 19 May 2004 - WinScribe, developer of the world’s most widely used digital dictation workflow system, has announced the release of "WinScribe Office", a new version of its flagship product, especially designed for small organisations, legal and professional firms. The new software offers many of the renowned features of WinScribe's flagship digital dictation solution, at an attractive price point.

Available from June, WinScribe Office includes many of the key components found within the author and transcriptionist  software, workflow and optional telephony features and is designed for use in a stand-alone workgroup or small company. Because WinScribe Office is designed for in-house use, it does not provide the Internet dictation and transcription features or import/export modules of the company’s full system, but does enable the use of hand held digital recorders including Olympus and Philips for dictation on the move.

“The product is the result of extensive research suggesting that many smaller organisations of 30 staff or less want a simple dictation workflow product.  Currently there is a gap in the market between dictation software that comes with dictation devices and the full function WinScribe product which enjoys UK market leadership.

We intend to fill this gap with WinScribe Office”, comments Philip Vian, MD, WinScribe Europe.

WinScribe Europe is aiming to double its customer base in the UK through its Sales Partners over the next 18 months with the addition of WinScribe Office to the product range. The company already has 30,000+ UK users of its full version software (almost 3 times its closest rival) and believes the Office  version will  further broaden its appeal and bring greater efficiency to the smallest workgroup.

"We are very excited about this new product as we can now offer a streamlined and feature-rich version of WinScribe at a highly cost-effective price, that  gives users a professional and affordable digital dictation solution," added Vian. "This new product includes the capabilities of our full system that a smaller organisation needs."

“We recommend this solution for smaller organisations that operate from a single office or have a Wide Area Network and/or virtual private network.  WinScribe Office supports handheld digital recorders and telephony dictation for mobile or remote users, whilst inclusion of key features from the full version, such as automatic prioritisation, job allocation and the comprehensive workflow and management system ensures efficient handling of dictation jobs.”

WinScribe is not only a Digital Dictation System but most importantly a Workflow Management System, offering companies complete control and flexibility of dictation.  Authors can dictate via a PC, any telephone, as well as handheld recorders. Unlike others, WinScribe uses efficient Vox files to ensure that the network of a busy Company is not overloaded.

WinScribe, which recently announced release of Version 3.4 of its main product providing full Citrix support, as well as enhanced support for Windows CE devices such as the Compaq iPAQ, now delivers a complete range of digital dictation solutions to meet the full range of market requirements.
