Exhibitions and Events which may be of interest to KIC members:   Victoria & Albert Museum: The Golden Age of Couture 22 September - 6 January.  The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London, 1947 -1957.  Dior’s launch of his “New Look” for his first collection in 1947 shocked and delighted the fashion world.  After the austerity of the war, his full skirts and hourglass figures were considered decadent, extravagant and opulent.  The exhibition will display stunning gowns and exquisite tailoring by designers such as Norman Hartnell, Balenciaga, Balmain, Givenchy and of course Dior.  To book tickets, see www.vam.ac.uk.
