Your host Roy has been cooking for over thirty years in many top international hotels. (Dorchester, London and Mount Nelson, Cape Town.) He is a classically trained chef and inspired by all Italian food his aim is to pass on his passion for cooking. But with the knowledge he can give you to reproduce these skills in your own home and to build up your cooking repertoire.
Roy is a member of the “Slow Food” organisation which originated in Bra, Italy. It’s concepts and concerns are important to anyone concerned with the state of the food industry. To protect the pleasures of the table from the confusion of modern fast food and life. This is the anti-thesis of fast food. A promotion of a gastronomic culture, the development of taste and the protection of traditional foods which are at risk of extinction.
There are no decoration, embellishments or mementos in his kitchen, which is finished with stainless steel worktops and is modern but professional. The kitchen has views overlooking an ancient Roman stone archway, cobbled passageways’ and cotto tiled roofs
A cooking course can be tailor made to fit in with your schedule. It is small, hands on, very individual, laid back and great fun. Guaranteed to take the fear out of cooking.
