Population c. 11,000 Family links: Leslie, Keith    Bypassed by the A96 Aberdeen – Inverness Trunk Route 16 miles/26km north west of Aberdeen (12 miles/19km from airport) in the heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside.
At the confluence of the Rivers Don and Ury, Inverurie has long been a shopping and commercial centre for the nearby countryside. Now also a commuter town for those working in Aberdeen, the town is known for friendly service and now benefits from a wide range of shops, smart restaurants, lively pubs, excellent cafés and takeaways both in the town centre and on the outskirts. Range of hotels and restaurants in town centre and outskirts for pre-booked group lunches etc. Largest 3 (on outskirts) have 17/27/27 double/twin rooms and several singles for group accommodation.
Practical info: Good coach access from all 3 junctions with A96. Coach drop off/pick up outside Town Hall. Free public toilets to rear of Town Hall. RADAR key required for disabled toilets. Coach parking on street near town centre or in industrial estates. Allow 3-4 mins from A96 and 1½ hrs for shopping/coffee; longer if lunch stop included.
