AlertYou is a unique, user-friendly communications system which allows any group or organisation to communicate efficiently with its members, saving time and money. The Information is sent by Alerts using a combination of text, email and web page.  Users are provided with unique usernames and passwords which can be changed within the system. Alerts can be sent from any computer connected to the Internet.   WHAT CAN ALERTYOU DO FOR 2D? Create focused online news: At the moment, 2D/ network sends out information via e-mail and post and people have commented on the ‘amount’ of information, not all of it being relevant to everyone and not everybody will take the time to scroll down to what they think is relevant to them. AlertYou can create different newsletters for different membership groups and use AlertYou to write and deliver them.  Members can opt in or out at any time – and not be overloaded by information they don’t want or need.  Resulting in people receiving the type of information they require, making them more likely to read it and act upon it if necessary. The art to good communication is accessing messages easily and effectively.  Meetings/ Events: 2D/ network will also be in control as to what information is essential/compulsory and has to go out to everybody, including reminders or cancellations of meetings, which can be sent directly via text message if necessary. Also particular organisations or groups, such as the Community Network, Volunteers, and Agencies etc can be individually grouped to receive information relevant to them. Basically AlertYou is an effective, easy to use method of communicating clear and relevant messages to those who wish or need to receive them. 2D/ network are also looking into the possibility of offering AlertYou features to stakeholder organisations.  AlertYou could offer a portal application, which enables organisations to add content to and update their own pages on the site as well as send messages to their own groups. 2D/ network could allow stakeholders to control their own content areas of the site, thereby providing them with their own online profiles as a membership benefit, for which a fee could be charged, discounted for members.
